Here's some of the work that I did in advanced ceramics.
At the end of the quarter our whole class put up our work in our teacher's gallery and called it Claymedia Infection/Leave No Evidence. haha pretty funny names if you ask me.
Architectural Project
I decided to make a pagoda but it could also function as a party platter!!! :D Made it in about 1-2 days? was so stressed haha
Interior Project
I was focusing on three types of interiors. The first one focuses on the interior of a tree (the rings that determine a tree's age). The second interior is revealed through the hole in the stump (possibly the home of the woodpecker?). The last paradigm of the interior is that the whole piece functions as a container (the lid comes off and you could store whatever you want!). This also took me 1-2 days. I say 1-2 days because I made this piece together with the pagoda at the same time... I procrastinated haha.
Classical/Contemporary Project
I decided to contemporize a classical korean vase. On the base of the vase (harr harr) I depicted the scene of Prometheus chained to a rock getting tortured by birds that turn into missiles, missiles (fire) that he gave to people. Well, I know that I should have chosen to depict this image on a classical Greek vase, yet I really wanted to use the Korean vase that I got inspired from. I made the pattern on the rim of the vase to resemble mushroom clouds; I didn't want it to completely register as mushroom clouds though (so i altered their shapes and stuff). For the glaze, I decided that I wanted the vase to look like as if it was uncovered after an air raid, somehow intact yet burned and covered in ash.
